ADC Voids Kingibe’s Suspension, Takes Disciplinary Action Against Ward Officials

The African Democratic Congress has nullified the suspension of the senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, describing the action taken by some ward executives as unconstitutional.
Party leaders explained that the decision announced by officials of the Wuse Ward in the Abuja Municipal Area Council did not follow the laid-down procedures of the party. According to the leadership, no formal petition or disciplinary process was presented before the suspension was declared.
Following a review of the situation, the party imposed sanctions on three ward officials accused of orchestrating the move. The officials were said to have acted outside their authority by announcing the suspension without approval from higher party structures.
The party leadership emphasized that disciplinary measures against members must strictly follow constitutional guidelines and due process. It also reaffirmed that the senator remains a member of the party and urged members to respect internal party regulations to maintain unity and stability.
