36-year-old man slips into uncovered well, dies in Kano

A 36-year-old man, only identified as Nuhu Rabiu, was on Tuesday confirmed dead in Kano State shortly after he was rescued from a well he fell into.

Confirming the development, the Spokesman of the State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, said the victim was rescued unconscious but later died.

According to a statement “our formation department received a distressed call at about 13:45 from Garba Alin reporting an incident at Hadejia Road Gunduwawa, Gezawa Local Government Area, when our men arrived the scene at about 14:10, they found, a man of about 36 years old, who fell into an open well,” he said in a terse statement.

Meanwhile, Abdullahi said the remains of the victim has been handed over to Police Constable, Abdullahi of Gezawa Police Division
